Dr Nigel Winnard

Dr. Winnard has been an international head of school for 20 years. He founded the first IB World School in Sudan, where he served for 12 years. He then spent seven years as Head of the American School of Rio de Janeiro, a two-campus IB World Continuum School, before joining ACS as Interim Head of School. As a school leader, researcher, writer and consultant, he works with communities to explore ways in which international schools can develop and implement ways to meet the needs of their students with fidelity in a world of evolving challenges, threats and opportunities. Dr. Winnard has a deep professional and academic interest in the ways in which international schools recruit, develop and retain the best leaders and teachers for their communities. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California and an MA in Educational Administration from Michigan State University.

Cynthia Chancellor

Cynthia holds a Master’s degree in Commerce with a specialization in Finance and Accountancy, driven by a passion for creating financially sustainable and high-performing educational environments where students and staff thrive.
With over 20 years of senior leadership experience in finance, human resources, and operational management within the education sector, she aligns financial strategy with organizational goals to foster long-term growth. Her international and not-for-profit background provides a comprehensive understanding of school operations and strategy.
Before her current role as Business Manager at ACS, where she collaborates with the Board and Senior Leadership Team on strategic financial planning, budgeting, and operational oversight, she spent two decades in the Middle East. This included leadership as Business Manager and Head of Finance at a prominent British International School in Riyadh, where she managed financial operations across five campuses, supporting over 2,000 students, and played a key role in strategic planning.
Earlier career experience in Wellington, New Zealand, encompassed finance and operational roles in public and private sector organizations, building a strong foundation in compliance, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration.
Deeply committed to operational excellence and financial stewardship, she consistently strives to make a significant, positive impact within the education community.

Eoin Fitzgerald

Eoin joins ACS with 15 years of educational experience in roles that have included PE HOD, Dean of Students, Athletic Director as well as MS Assistant Principal. Having worked for a decade in the Middle East, Eoin brings a global perspective and cultural fluency to the table. Eoin’s MEd in Educational Leadership dovetails with his extensive background in playing and coaching, instilling a deep understanding of teamwork, discipline, and leadership. Eoin is ready for this unforgettable journey of immersive learning experiences that inspire, empower, and transform lives.

Christie Coomer

Christie is a seasoned educator with a passion for inspiring pupils to reach their full potential. With a strong background in international school teaching and management, she creates engaging and challenging learning experiences that prioritize academic excellence, resilience, and personal growth. At ACS, Christie is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive community where every student feels valued. She focuses on curriculum development and ensures that each child has meaningful opportunities for learning and growth. Her goal is to create a dynamic environment that celebrates diversity and encourages a love of learning. Christie holds a Bachelor of Arts and a PGCE from the UK and is currently pursuing her NPQH qualification.

Anjel Lublubjian Bouari

Anjel is a passionate international educator and school leader with over 18 years of experience in international schools, where she has taught IB Psychology and Mathematics, in addition to serving in various leadership roles. She currently serves as the Acting Principal of Middle High School, where she is committed to creating a learning environment in which every student is seen, supported, and empowered to achieve their full potential.

Prior to this role, Anjel was the Assistant Principal – Academic at ACS, where she led impactful initiatives in curriculum development, teaching and learning, and academic programming. Before joining ACS, she served as the IB Diploma Programme Coordinator and served as Chair of the Association of IB World Schools in Lebanon, reinforcing her deep connection to and advocacy for the global IB community.

Anjel brings a strategic and student-centered vision to her leadership, with a particular focus on equity, inclusion, and the development of cohesive and transparent educational pathways. Her work with Qatar’s Ministry of Education on aligning high school equivalency requirements has facilitated smoother transitions for students between local and international systems.

Anjel holds a BA in Psychological Counseling, a Teaching Diploma, and a Master of Arts in International Education from Framingham State University (USA). Anjel is also a committed IB Educator, currently serving as a DP Psychology Examiner, Programme Leader, Workshop Leader, and Visiting Team Member.

Known for her integrity, empathy, and collaborative spirit, Anjel’s leadership is grounded in a belief that schools thrive when students are nurtured as whole individuals and when educators work together to build inclusive, globally-minded learning communities.

Salman Ahmad

Salman Ahmad has been working at ACS Doha as a Head of Digital since 2012, with over 20 years of experience leading edTech in K to 12 schools domestically and internationally. He has a masters in computer sciences from Pakistan with a major in software engineering and MA in education from the UK with a specialisation in technology and learning designs.

At ACS Doha, Salman play a key role in developing edTech strategy to ensure students and teachers are equipped and trained to use the state of the art technology tools & applications. As a member of the leadership team, he works closely with colleagues to develop a positive culture to help everyone think beyond their possibilities.

No doubt, technology plays a crucial role in all aspects of our life, especially in K-12 education, from engaging students in the classrooms to connecting teachers across divisions, from streamlining administrative tasks to conducting assessments for learning and most importantly as an efficient way to communicate with the community. With that in mind, his focus is always on developing modern classrooms, efficient and robust IT information systems and edTech toolkit to enhance teaching and learning practices and to meet the needs of future generations.
