At ACS Doha, we believe Early Childhood is the most critical stage in shaping a lifelong love for learning. Our tailored IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) offers a unique, immersive experience designed specifically for young learners. Rooted in play, inquiry, and hands-on exploration, we create a dynamic environment where children are encouraged to explore, question, and discover the world around them.
We recognize every child as a capable, curious individual, bringing with them valuable knowledge and experiences that form the foundation for their growth. Learning is driven by their innate curiosity and interests, empowering them to take ownership of their educational journey.
In Early Childhood, the PYP is built around four big ideas called transdisciplinary themes that help us explore important topics. These themes are:
- Who We Are: Learning about ourselves, our families, and the communities we belong to.
- How We Express Ourselves: Understanding how we share ideas, feelings, and creativity.
- How the World Works: Investigating science, technology, and how things around us operate.
- Sharing the Planet: Thinking about the environment, animals, and how we live together responsibly.
Through these transdisciplinary themes and carefully designed units of inquiry, our students engage in purposeful interdisciplinary experiences that foster transferable skills, deepen their conceptual understanding and spark a deeper connection to their world. They become active participants in their learning, making meaningful connections across subjects and developing the confidence to take action.
In our vibrant, English-language environment, children not only develop essential academic skills but also foster the Approaches to Learning emphasized in the IB framework, such as critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Additionally, they are supported in enhancing their social-emotional development, ensuring a well-rounded growth experience.
We foster a strong sense of belonging, ensuring each child feels valued and understood. By embracing the attributes of the IB Learner Profile—such as curiosity, responsibility, resilience, and empathy—our students learn to approach challenges with confidence and compassion, both within the classroom and the wider community.
Our thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces are more than just places for play—they encourage exploration, creativity, and healthy risk-taking in a supportive and nurturing atmosphere. We understand that young children thrive when they feel safe, inspired, and free to explore their interests, and our learning spaces reflect this belief.
With personalized instruction and strong, supportive relationships between educators and learners, we celebrate each child’s unique strengths and provide the guidance needed to help them become independent, confident, and compassionate individuals. As part of our commitment to holistic development, we also offer enriching experiences that foster a sense of global citizenship and respect for diversity.
At ACS we aim to not only educate but to inspire a lifelong love of learning, compassion, and responsibility. We invite you to explore our warm, nurturing environment where your child’s curiosity, creativity, and confidence will flourish.
