ACS High School Diploma (US)

All ACS International Schools students who successfully complete the prescribed course of study receive an accredited High School Diploma. Students pursuing this qualification choose from an extensive range of traditional and contemporary subjects to create their own uniquely challenging programmes.

À la carte Advanced Placement and IB Diploma courses offer advanced academic rigour in many subjects. Student can choose courses of study that specialize in particular areas of interest and ability, or meet the admission requirements of more-narrowly-focused national education systems.

A student must complete at least one semester of Senior Year at ACS in order to be eligible.

The ACS High School Diploma (US) meets the admission requirements for US colleges and universities.

Students must earn a minimum of 20 credits in order to be eligible. Note that students will have the opportunity to earn up to 26 credits over the four-year High School programme (12 credits in grades 9 and 10, and up to 14 credits in grades 11 and 12).

Students must have a minimum of 20 credits in the following subject areas:

  • English – 4 credits
  • Social Studies and World Languages – 6 credits
  • Mathematics and Science – 6 credits
  • Arts (Music, Art or Drama) – 1 credit
  • Physical Education – 2 credits​
  • Elective – 1 Credit

Note: All subject grades on the transcript must be a minimum of “C” level in order to be counted towards the Diploma. Our Diploma is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
